OUR STORY
Gotham Café is a casual eatery serving good food in a laid back environment, starting with a light breakfast menu in mid-morning and carrying right through until late night with an extensive and varied menu.
Our concept is to deliver top quality food, at reasonable prices, in an unpretentious and casual setting. Gotham Café is a neighbourhood restaurant where you can relax, chill out and enjoy yourself without feeling too worried about the size of the bill at the end!
It can fulfil many needs, being suitable for a quick meal if you are on your way to the cinema or theatre, to a full three course menu with coffee when you are in the mood for a little more.
Much of our menu and, of course, all of our signature pizzas, utilise our stone pizza oven which was imported for us from Washington State in the USA. These pizza ovens are regarded as the best in the world and we believe help us create outstanding pizza bases. Our pizza dough is freshly made every day, on the premises, using just five ingredients: flour, water, yeast and small amounts of salt and sugar.

Our beef and chicken are from Maurice Kettyle Foods in Fermanagh and our fresh ham is produced in Cork for Kelly Brothers Pork Butchers in Drimnagh.
Ed Hick in Glasthule supplies us with his famous sausages and our pepperoni has been produced in Dundalk by the German Salami Company since 1976.
Our pizzas use 100% Irish mozzarella cheese and our fresh baked bread is from Arbutus Breads in Cork city.
With the exception of ice-cream all our desserts are created in our own kitchens, including our famous cheesecake, which follows a recipe used by the owner's mother 40 years ago.
Gotham Café was opened in the summer of 1993. The owners, David Barry and Jackie Keating had traded from that premises since the winter of 1989 with another of their businesses, The Independent Pizza Company. It was felt that the location was ripe for their new restaurant concept which was to become the Gotham Café.
As owners we are passionate about eating out and enjoying ourselves in a convivial, relaxing ambience. Whether it’s the Sunday papers and some comfort food at brunch, a warm sandwich for a quick lunch, poached eggs on toast for a late breakfast, or more elaborate fare later in the evening, Gotham Café delivers.
IRELAND'S BEST PIZZA: IT'S OFFICIAL!
Gotham Restaurant Group recently took part in the first ever Irish heat of the Global Pizza Challenge and won the Gold Medal.
So now we are officially Ireland's Best Pizza as voted by the Panel of Chefs of Ireland at Chef Ireland 2011.
